Sonia had the great opportunity to photograph Aruba’s 50th Carnival. She was awarded a grant for an exhibition entitled “Faces of Aruba”. The following are images selected for the exhibition.  Besides the photographic exhibit,

Sonia introduced local third graders to the cultural traditions surrounding Aruba’s Carnival. After a colorful presentation, the students enjoyed decorating construction paper masks and headpieces with feathers, sequins and lots of glitter to make their own Carnival creations.
